How did you feel about your body and your fitness journey before Joining Fit, Fyne & Fabulous?
I do not use the word hate, unless you were asking me to tell you how I feel about the way I look. I’ve not had a full-length mirror in my home in over 11 years. I gained 80 lbs when I had my first son and hated my body ever since then. I didnt like myself or how I looked. Before FFF, I didnt have a fitness journey. I was a fitness lab rat. I tried many things but was unable to keep the motivation to sustain any of the temporary success. I tried Weight Watchers, starvation, and even Insanity partnered with Weight Watchers. The common result is that I would quit when life got too busy. When duty called (working overtime, going back to school to get my Master’s degree, more children, family needs), I would drop my routine and focus on everyone and everything else.
How many pounds and inches did you lose with FFF, and how do you feel about your body and your fitness journey now?
I’ve lost 14 lbs and over 25 inches since joining FFF . I haven’t reached my goal yet, but as I inch closer to it I have a new found love for me. Being a part of FFF, has helped me to realize that I’m worth it. It’s not selfish to take care of myself. I learned that taking care of me is actually very selfless because I know the result is a better version of me that is able to give more of myself to others. I have more energy and I eager to do more physical activities with my family. I have faith that if I continue eating clean and stick to my workouts that I will reach my goal and I will be able to maintain the results. FFF has given me the tools necessary to succeed at a healthy lifestyle for the rest of my life.
What is your favorite NSV or Non Scale Victory?
I got to a point where I stopped losing weight but I continued to lose inches. My clothes fit more comfortable & some got too big. I’ve learned that the scale is NOT my friend.
What is your favorite clean eating recipe you’ve learned while being a part of FFF?
My favorite NSV is my renewed mind. FFF has helped me erase the negative self-image of myself. I love me and as a result I take better care of myself and the people around me. I’m sharing this healthy lifestyle with my family and teaching my children about not overeating and about the importance of a balanced diet. They now have a conscience when it comes to eating sweets and not getting enough veggies. The gift of health is truly the gift that keeps on giving.
Is there anything you would like to share with women who are on the fence about starting their journey? Anything you would like to leave them with, a quote or any final words of motivation?
Being held accountable for my actions and goals has kept me consistent and is the key to sustained results. Don’t do it alone. We are so much better together than we are alone.
What is your favorite fitness tip you’ve learned while being a part of FFF?
Meal prep is the key to success! I learned that in order to succeed you have to plan and prep. Every single time I failed to prep I ended up being faced with making less than healthy choices and feeling guilty about it. I also learned that guilt = weight gain. I am not required to be perfect. I just need to get better each day.
