day-4
A note from STEVE HARVEY….

When people begin taking action toward their goals, they usually focus on what they should start doing. Well, I want you to take a moment to decide what you need to STOP doing.

KEY ACTION STEP DAY 4:

Choose one thing you will stop doing immediately that has been holding you back from making progress on the goal you selected for this challenge. Of course, we want to hear about it! Share what you’ll stop doing in the comments below!

sig-day-2

A RECAP OF pages 19-26 as told by Coach Zakia
(click here to learn more about Zakia):

We all have felt that we failed at something. Whether it was job, relationship, or your health journey. “We need to learn and realize that failure isn’t final. It’s an experience that has already finished.” We need to let it go and keep moving. Sometimes we stay stuck in that same place, worried about what went wrong. This time, we need to learn from the lesson. “With every lesson you learn, you add more confidence and gain more strength for the next part of your journey.”

Diva Thought pulled from JUMP by Coach Zakia

“Don’t make your past mistakes larger by focusing all of your attention on them and neglecting to concentrate on your future success. God has already gotten you through the mistake, so don’t keep it in front of you!!”

-xoxo

  • Coach Zak says:

I’m going to stop Stopping. I tend to do well in the beginning and then I stop. And I keep repeating this same process. This time, I’m going to keep going.

    • Mea says:

Awesome Coach Zak! You definitely gave me another way of looking at stopping! WOW, thanks for sharing.

  • Liz Prince says:

Coach Zakia…oh my when I read this quote “failure isn’t final” in the book, it was like a breakthrough for me. I have been feeling this way since this summer when I failed my written test on the 1st try. It still lingers in my mind. But GOD! The second time I got it done. So I need to move on. Ultimately, I did not fail. I persevered! And it all worked in HIS timing! AMEN! AMEN! AMEN!

    • Mea says:

I’ve failed by not making time for my health, workouts, and spending quality time with distant family members!!! I am going to STOP MAKING EXCUSES and be like Nike, JUST DO IT!!!

      • Nornette Jacobs says:

Love this one Mea! Sometimes that three word phrase is what gets me off of the fence… Yes! We will Just Do It!!!💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽

    • Mea says:

Awesome Coach Liz!! You’re attempts to succeed are indicative of what you believe; failure isn’t final! Congratulations on your test accomplishment!!!

    • Nornette Jacobs says:

Yes! So as long as we pick ourselves up and keep on keeping on, then we’re winning… Because just as Steve said, even if we have an unfavorable experience, there are still lessons to be learned to help us as we move forward. Revelations all over the place… Thanks for sharing your testimony.

  • Sherrica cevedoBufford says:

I will stop being AFRAID!!!!! This has stopped me from doing many things in life. Just being AFRAID, but I am learning that when I am feeling AFRAID i am giving too much energy to other things like my anxiety.. So going forward I will NOT allow this feeling to hold me back any more.

    • Coach Twy says:

I stand in agreement with you! AMEN! Great STOP!

    • Nornette Jacobs says:

Yes sis! Touching and agreeing; No Fear in the name of Jesus. Just remember that God has not given us a spirit of fear, but a spirit of power, love, and a sound mind. ll Timothy1:7

  • michele dean says:

My problem is I always have to present myself 100%. The problem is that’s a goal I can not reach but GOD can. When Steve said that GOD works with the broken pieces I knew he was talking about me. I always felt I had to do this first and then I ‘ll let GOD come in and do the rest especially with my weight loss OMG!. I was suppose to Join this group since last February 2016 I actually said I want to lose 20 pounds first and then I will join well I joined in august and I am back at it again look how much time I wasted, because of this mentality I always failed in a lot of areas of my life wheels were turning and I was not going anywhere. These pages was an eye opener for me.

    • Coach Twy says:

That used to be meeeeee! OMG, that perfection monster was on my back!!! Now I produce what I can when I can (that is progress too) and I progressively elaborate / improve on my work. Otherwise, it will never get done. Perfection is another word for Procrastination if you ask me LOL

  • Danie Irving says:

I am going to STOP procrastinating. Things I need to do end up getting pushed back until I look up and it was never done. I am going to do better at executing on my committments.

    • Wanda says:

That is my thorn as well! Ok Dani it is overdue for us to fully commit 100%

    • TTODD1 says:

I am with you on this one Dani! I WILL STOP PROCRASTINATING! I have too much going on to keep pushing stuff back!!! I start off organized and I give myself ample time then I take advantage of that time putting things off til the next day until I’m up cramming at the 12th hour! I will stay on task and complete each goal in a timely fashion!

  • Nornette Jacobs says:

I’m going to STOP putting other’s needs before my own. I’m not saying that I will stop being of service to others, because God created us to be of service to others. But, I will no longer be there for others and neglect the things I need to do for self; I will find a balance.

    • Coach Twy says:

Coach is working on that toooooo!!! Thank you for sharing!

      • Nornette Jacobs says:

Yes, we must just find a nice balance… Because when we help others we’re building up our own economy; God sees, is very pleased and will reward us. But He wants us to do the things we need to do, as well. You’re welcome!❤️

  • Nornette Jacobs says:

Wow! Steve is preaching up in here! ☺️ Steve advises us to look at life experiences where we fell short (failed) as lessons, as opposed to failure. What good advice! This makes me think of a time when I was experiencing an unpleasant situation and a friend of mine said, “You know Nornette, I notice whenever you hit bumps in the road; when life throws you lemons, you waste no time turning those lemons into lemonade.” Throughout my life, that has always been my way of handling adversities, but I never actually stopped, reflected, and defined how I coped during times of adversity. Since she said this to me, this has remained in my head, so when those times of adversity present itself, I just say to myself, Alright now, time to make some nice refreshing lemonade to sip on! So, yes, I agree with Steve, failures or LESSONS that propel us to the next level God would have us to be.

  • Wennifer Cameron says:

I am going to learn to put my needs first. I have always taken care of everyone and everything except myself. I will learn to make myself a priority and will not worry about the need to please others. I will still be kind, but I must be kind to myself also. I will use my fear and failures to push me forward to success

    • Nornette Jacobs says:

Amen sis! I can totally relate to this one, too. But we will be very intentional in making sure we make ourselves numero uno!☺️

  • Delores says:

I will no longer be afraid of failure. Failure is part of life , once I stop taking it personal and only then will I be able to finish what I start.

    • Coach Twy says:

That’s a good one sis! Stop taking it personal. There’s a great book called the 4 agreements, and one of the agreements is STOP TAKING THINGS PERSONAL! I think you are on to something here sis!!!

  • Angela McCall-Brown says:

With every lesson you learn, you add more confidence and gain more strength for the next part of your journey~Steve Harvey

I am going to stop looking at my lessons with the attitude, why must I go through this God. Instead I want my response to be, what is it that You want to teach me in this lesson Lord so that You can prepare for the next level!

  • k edwards says:

I am going to stop Procrastination…. I need to get it done early and not later! I’m also going to put myself first! I’m always being a people pleaser and it stops now!

  • Beverly C says:

I am going to stop saying “I’m fat” and change that negativity into something positive by do something about it – starting with being committed to this challenge and maintaining after the challenge.

  • Joy Jackson says:

The one thing I will stop doing is treating the weekends as days off from eating correctly. I myst plan my meals for 7 days instead of 5.

  • Tavisha says:

Excuses, excuses, excuses. I will stop making excuses as to way I can’t. Take the can’t out and replace it with I can!!!

  • Priscilla Toussant says:

    Stop Making excuses!!!

  • Keisha Fontenot-Crawford says:

Staying committed to my goals! This is my number one problem! After I had a bout with failure many years ago, all that I worked for crumbled. I never found my courage to be that strong, determined, & focused individual I once was. I always start really good then loose my way😫. No More in 2017!

My favorite from tonight’s reading was: ” It’s ok for you to do better, be better, and want better for your life. If you keep moving on your path, God will change your life over time.”

  • TTODD1 says:

As I am reading these comments I thought that this poem would be appropriate for someone to read. It has helped me to overcome many of the fears that I use to have. I hope it blesses someone.

    OUR DEEPEST FEAR
Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine as children do. It’s not just in some of us; it is in everyone. And as we let our own lights shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.

  • Dawn Taylor says:

My problem is that I start something but stop mid stream. I have to stay committed.

  • Dawn Taylor says:

When you are going through pain. Do you chose to be depressed or do you pick yourself and keep on moving?. Well I chose to keep moving. I had to for my 3 daughters who I raised my own and if it wasn’t for God. There father tells me he doesn’t want to be married anymore and left. It shocked me, it hurt. For 3 days I fasted and prayed. God was with me every step of the way. If I didn’t do that, I probably would have been in a depressed state. I am a survivor.

  • Tamika Lewis says:

I’m going to STOP making everything else more important than my health! Yes I’m taking online classes! Yes I’m working a full time job and part time job! Those things are not more important than a healthy mind and body, though!

    • Coach Twy says:

In fact you can’t do them if you get sick. Don’t wait until the doctor forces you, do it now sis.

  • Nicole S McCoy says:

I am going to STOP giving up on myself. When the challenges mixed all in with life get difficult for me, I tend to slack and ultimately fall completely off. Then I get discouraged and i find myself back where I started. This time, I am not going to fall completely off. If you all find that I’m slacking, please reach out and push me back in.
